See the World Through Sports
Take your students somewhere a classroom can’t. Our study abroad programs use sports as a lens into culture, history, and community, giving student groups an immersive cultural experience.
These trips are built for students and faculty who want to understand a country from the inside out. Your group will explore how baseball shapes identity, values, and daily life, and partake in the distinct ways that people from other countries experience the game. You’ll attend professional games, tour historic stadiums and academies, meet local players and hosts, and experience each destination’s culture, landmarks, and cuisine.
Designed in partnership with your institution and led by your own professor or staff in conjunction with our expert local guides, each program blends academic enrichment with the kind of cultural immersion that stays with students for life.

Choose Your Destination
Japan
Since baseball arrived in 1872, Japan has treated the sport as a vehicle for teaching teamwork, respect, sacrifice, and honor. Students witness how a nation’s most beloved game reflects its deepest cultural values, from high school tournaments that stop the country to the ritual of the professional leagues. In the stands, organized cheering sections and team traditions reveal a fan experience unlike anything back home. Beyond the ballpark, historic neighborhoods, local cuisine, and everyday encounters bring the connections between sport, community, and Japanese life into focus.
Korea
One of the most electric baseball cultures on earth, KBO games are part sport, part concert, and part street festival, with coordinated chants, songs, and choreography that turn spectators into part of the show. Students experience a society where deep tradition and rapid modernization meet, with baseball as a front-row seat to it all. Beyond the ballpark, bustling markets, historic palaces, and shared meals offer a closer look at Korean daily life. It’s a chance to explore how sports, business, and popular culture connect in a country whose influence reaches far beyond its borders.

Dominican Republic
Outside of the U.S., no country sends more players and star power to Major League Baseball than the D.R. Students see how baseball works as an economic engine and a path forward for young athletes, but also examine the ethics of the talent popeline, where opportunity and exploitation go hand in hand. From MLB-run training academies to the legendary gritty fields of San Pedro de Macorís and the raucous winter league stadiums, students get a front-row view of the Dominican baseball machine that shapes the modern game.
Netherlands
Baseball has quietly thrived in the Netherlands for over a century, with the strongest baseball infrastructure of any country in Europe. Students discover a place where the game connects a small, efficient, globally-minded nation to Caribbean islands, American culture, and a fiercely competitive international baseball identity most people never knew existed. From historic Haarlem to the famed streets of Amsterdam, it’s a destination that reframes everything students think they know about “America’s game.”
